Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurses must provide top end care for patients with life-threatening trauma. Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurses must have the ability to make rapid and accurate decisions while keeping composed during unforeseen, traumatic events.
Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurses duties consist of:
Analyzing the progress of the patient.
Taking needed steps if the patient's condition changes.
Assisting physicians with medical procedures.
Ensuring all medical devices are functioning properly while taking care of the patient.
Administering needed medication in a fast moving, highly stressful environment.
Providing emotional support while updating family members of current health status of the patient.
One year of experience as an ICU RN within the past two years.
Active Nursing License in good standing.
Up to date BLS through American Heart Association.
