Job Description

Intensive Care Unit RNs must provide top end care for patients with life-threatening medical conditions. ICU RNs must have the ability to make rapid and spot on decisions while staying composed during unpredictable, traumatic events.

Responsibilities

Intensive Care Unit Nurses duties include:
  • Analyzing the patient’s progress.
  • Following the correct process if there are any changes in the patient's condition.
  • Helping physicians with procedures.
  • Ensuring all medical devices are functioning properly while taking care of patients.
  • Giving needed medication in a fast-paced, highly stressful environment.
  • Providing emotional support while updating family members of current health status of the patient.

Requirements

One year of experience as an ICU RN within the past two years.
  • Current Nursing License in good standing.
  • Current Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
