The Post Anesthetic Care Unit Nurse is responsible for the daily care of patients that have just undergone anesthesia during a medical procedure. PACU Nurses care for a wide variety of patients, from children to adults and play an important role in the recovery of the patient.
As a Post Anesthetic Care Unit RN your responsibilities consist of:
Assess the patient's health status and supply medications as needed.
Helping patients with personal needs right after their procedure as they are helped back to consciousness.
Watch the vitals of the patient and ensure that no complications arise.
Care for the patients surgical wounds and replace bandages when needed.
One year of experience as a Post Anesthetic Care Unit RN within the past two years.
