A Nursery RN generally works in hospital nurseries. Sometimes assisting in private residences or outpatient care centers when home care is required for infants who are sick. Nursery Registered Nurses usually provide non-medical care such as changing dirty diapers and quieting colicky babies. Additional jobs can vary based on the need.
Nursery RN duties consist of:
Helping the doctor.
Instructing family of the patient of important home care and follow-up steps.
Administering prescribed medications, tests, treatments and procedures.
Making and managing patient care plans.
Documenting patient records.
One year of experience as a Nursery Nurse within the past two years.
Active Nursing License in good standing.
Up to date BLS through American Heart Association.
