The main focus for the Oncology Nurse is to assist patients who are diagnosed with various stages of cancer. Oncology Registered Nurses also take care of patients that have a high risk of getting the disease, and supply them with preventative options.
As an Oncology Nurse your duties consist of:
Providing care and concern to patients while educating them on their condition.
Administering chemotherapy and other needed medications to the patient.
Monitoring the patient’s physical and mental health and logging the patient's progress.
One year of experience as a Oncology Registered Nurse within the past two years.
Active Nursing License in good standing.
Up to date Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
