The primary priority for the Oncology RN is to help patients who are diagnosed with different stages of cancer. Oncology Nurses also take care of patients that have a greater risk of getting the disease, and provide patients with preventative methods.
As an Oncology RN your duties consist of:
Offering encouragement to patients while coaching them on their condition.
Administering chemotherapy and other crucial medications to the patient.
Monitoring the patient’s physical and mental health and making notes of the patient's progress.
One year of experience as a Oncology RN within the past two years.
Active Nursing License in good standing.
Up to date Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
