The Surgical ICU RN is in charge of the care of critically ill patients recovering from major operations. Surgical ICU Registered Nurses have to evaluate the patient, diagnose and implement treatment plans accordingly.
As a SICU RN your duties include:
Teaching patients and their families before, during and after surgeries.
Sterilizing medical equipment and the room.
Preparing the operating room and make certain safety measures are followed.
Helping the doctor in different procedures while monitoring the patient’s vitals.
One year of experience as a Surgical ICU Nurse within the past two years.
Current RN License in good standing.
Up to date Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
