Intensive Care Unit Nurses must provide top end care for patients with life-threatening trauma. Intensive Care Unit RNs must have the ability to make timely and accurate decisions while staying composed during unforeseen, traumatic events.
ICU Nurses responsibilities consist of:
Analyzing the progress of the patient.
Following the correct process if there are any changes in the patient's condition.
Assisting physicians with procedures.
Ensuring all medical equipment is functioning properly while caring for the patient.
Supplying needed medication in a fast moving, highly stressful environment.
Providing emotional support while updating family members of current health status of the patient.
One year of experience as an ICU RN within the past two years.
Current Nursing License in good standing.
Up to date BLS from American Heart Association.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
