The primary responsibility of a Hospice RN is to provide care for patients whom are diagnosed with incurable diseases. It is extremely important for a Hospice Registered Nurse to be compassionate while also making sure the patient is getting the best care.
As a Hospice Registered Nurse your responsibilities consist of:
Providing companionship and support to the patients and their families, while communicating updates in the patient's condition.
Ensuring safety precautions and ethical standards are being met during the patient's care.
Evaluating patients and making instant, critical decisions on necessary care before alerting the doctor.
Maintaining emotional and physical support when handling the challenges of severe illnesses, and even death.
One year of experience as a Hospice Nurse within the past two years.
Current RN License in good standing.
Up to date BLS through American Heart Association.
