Long Term Care Nurses usually work in healthcare facilities, convalescent homes, hospice or assisted-living centers. Long Term Care Nurses must be comfortable assessing patients, developing care plans for patients, providing guidance and schedule treatments for the patients. A Long Term Care RN typically observes the work of a Licensed Practical Nurse.
As a Long Term Care Nurse your responsibilities include:
Checking the condition and the vital signs of patients.
Logging records for the facility.
Implementing treatment plans.
Overseeing aides and assistants as they assist patient's every day needs.
One year of experience as a Long Term Care RN within the past two years.
Active RN License in good standing.
Current Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
