The MICU Nurse is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, providing treatment, and evaluating patients who are suffering from serious medical diseases, illnesses, or organ failures. The Medical Intensive Care Unit Nurse need to remain composed in all situations when dealing with patients in this unit, because they need a high level of care.
As a Medical Intensive Care Unit RN your responsibilities include:
Meeting with other members of the medical team to write a care plan for the patient.
Regularly monitor the vitals of the patient and document any changes ad progress.
Educating the patient and their families on the patient's current health condition and coordinate the patient's discharge plans, when needed.
One year of experience as a Medical Intensive Care Unit Nurse within the past two years.
Current RN License in good standing.
Up to date Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
