The Surgical ICU Registered Nurse is accountable for the care of critically ill patients recovering from major surgeries. SICU Nurses are required to examine the patient, diagnose and organize treatment plans accordingly.
As a Surgical ICU Registered Nurse your responsibilities consist of:
Teaching patients and their families before, during and after operations.
Sterilizing tools and the room.
Prepping the operating room and ensure safety measures are upheld.
Supporting the physician in varying procedures while monitoring the patient’s vitals.
One year of experience as a SICU Registered Nurse within the past two years.
Current RN License in good standing.
Current Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
