The Dialysis Nurse assists patients who have kidney disease by assisting with dialysis treatments. The primary duty of the Dialysis RN is to purify the blood by eliminating all toxins caused by the failing kidney.
Dialysis RN duties consist of:
Running and checking a hemodialysis machine used to cleanse the patient’s blood.
Observing the vital signs of the patient vitals during treatment.
Being able to take appropriate measures if any problems come up.
Teaching the patient on the procedures and results in a sympathetic and compassionate manner.
One year of experience as a Dialysis Registered Nurse within the past two years.
Current Nursing License in good standing.
Up to date Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
