Job Description

Nurse Managers supervise the day to day functions of a facility's nursing unit. Nurse Managers work to improve patient care, even though their patient contact may be limited. Nurse Managers focus mainly on administrative duties for their entire department.

Responsibilities

As a Nurse Manager your responsibilities consist of:
  • Selecting and retaining members of the staff.
  • Coordinating training sessions.
  • Handle employee evaluations and employee development programs.
  • Making employee work schedules.
  • Developing procedures and policies to advance the department and the methods in which patients are cared for.
  • Creating budgets for departments.
  • Tracking monthly expenses.
  • Buying supplies and equipment.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Nurse Manager within the past two years.
  • Active RN License in good standing.
  • Up to date Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
