Nurse Managers supervise the day to day functions of a facility's nursing unit. Nurse Managers work to improve patient care, even though their patient contact may be limited. Nurse Managers focus mainly on administrative duties for their entire department.
As a Nurse Manager your responsibilities consist of:
Selecting and retaining members of the staff.
Coordinating training sessions.
Handle employee evaluations and employee development programs.
Making employee work schedules.
Developing procedures and policies to advance the department and the methods in which patients are cared for.
Creating budgets for departments.
Tracking monthly expenses.
Buying supplies and equipment.
One year of experience as a Nurse Manager within the past two years.
Active RN License in good standing.
Up to date Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
