Physical Therapist (PT) Resources

Physical Therapist

Physical therapists provide services that help improve mobility, decrease pain, restore function and prevent or limit physical disability related to injuries or various diseases. Therapists evaluate patients' strength, balance, coordination, range of motion and motor function and use the findings to develop an individualized plan of care for each patient. They implement treatment strategies such as exercise, massage, electrical stimulation and mobility aides such as walkers and crutches to improve the patient's functionality. Therapists monitor patient progress throughout the duration of therapy and alter the plan of care as necessary to meet treatment goals. Therapists often work with physicians and other healthcare professionals throughout treatment.
